Hindi movies with Mass Appeal are made to maximize the profit for the producers as well as to prove the STAR-POWER of the Star concerned but with Mass Appeal comes High Production cost as compared to other genre.But what makes the producer think that the movie can make Huge profits,they very well know that BOXOFFICE Earnings are not Enough to give producer huge profits.Its the price at which the SATELLITE RIGHTS of the movies are sold that helps them Maximize their Profits. For Example–3Idiots Satellite rights were sold for 35 cr back in 2009 which helped its Producers Balance sheet.
Similar way Ajay Devgan’s Bol Bachchan was sold at 30 cr to Star networks and Salman khan’s Ek Tha Tiger was sold at 45 cr to Sony Channel helped Producers make Profits.
This selling of Satellite rights are just one side of the story. The TVR’s that follow on the day of World TV premiere tells the real STARDOM of the STARS as TV premieres are watched by at least 10-20 cr people as compared to Maximum 2 Cr people watching the movie in the cinemas .
Now Comparing the TVR’s of these above mentioned 2 movies–
Ajay devgan’s Bol Bachchan had its World TV premiere on 27 th October,2012.The World Television Premiere of ‘Bol Bachchan’ on Star Gold rated 4.8 TVR (9 PM) .
while on the other hand—
