Himmatwala has been completely rejected by the masses as well as the classes. Neither were the weekend numbers up to the mark nor the weekday numbers. Many corporate film houses exaggerate the box office collections and in case of Himmatwala too there are many weekend numbers that are floating while there is no way to prove which figure is the correct figure, but most sources say that the weekend collection for Himmatwala is Rs. 27 crores which is quite less for a film that was pronounced ‘Blockbuster’ in its poster release itself!
The weekday figures for Himmatwala are lackluster too! All India net box-office collection of Himmatwala on weekdays is as follows:
Monday: Rs. 4 crores
Tuesday: Rs. 2.5 crores
Wednesday: Rs. 2 crores
This means that the week will end at 36 – 37 crores only. Since the film has so much negative word-of-mouth there are hardly any chances that it will run in the second week. In fact the film will not even touch the 50 crores mark. 2013, Bollywood has performed poorly so far! Let’s hope films like Ekk Thi Daayan and Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani prove to be super successful.
