Will Shahrukh Khan manage to beat Salman Khan’s unbeatable 100 crore record? SRK-Deepika will be back on screen six years after Om Shanti Om and for the first time with hit-maker Rohit Shetty. And while an Eid release was always planned, the makers of this highly anticipated film have now changed the release date from August 8 to August 9, since the festival will be celebrated a day later. So now SRK fans will have to wait for another 24 hours to watch their favourite star in what looks like a totally madcap caper.
But whatever the actual date of release may be, we wonder if SRK’s latest will match up to Salman’s Eid-time box-office record. After all, Sallu has ruled this annual festival for some years now, with hits like Wanted, the Dabangg, Bodyguard and Ek Tha Tiger! Will SRK speed past Salman this time? Will King Khan establish himself as the box-office baadshah? That’s a feat that many industry insiders believe is impossible, but we certainly would like to see some fireworks this Eid. And if SRK does indeed win the day, wethinks it would be Rohit Shetty’s best Eidi presented to his film’s hero!
