While Sonakshi is leaving no stone unturned to promote her film R…Rajkumar co-starring Shahid, the B-town beauty is keeping a safe distance from the Saif Ali Khan film Bullett Raja. Is she following in Sallu and Akki’s footsteps when it comes to promotions?
If nothing else, Sonakshi Sinha has learned one thing from her two superstar colleagues Salman Khan and Akshay Kumar – that is, not to promote a film that is not up to the mark in her opinion. Remember how Sallu was miffed with Anil Sharma for taking Veer for granted? The Being Human hero even gave a earful to the director on the sets and later kept a low profile during promotions. Khiladi Kumar did the same with Shirish Kunder’s Joker and Milan Luthria’s Once Upon Ay Time In Mumbai Dobaara. Akki alienated himself from Joker and didn’t go all out to promote Luthria’s film co-starring Sonakshi and Imran Khan either. Maybe Salman and Akshay knew the fate of their movies and hence backed off even before they released.
Looks like Ms Sinha believes that R…Rajkumar will fare better at the box office than Bullett Raja. We know Shotgun Jr has worked with Prabhu Dheva before and their film Rowdy Rathore minted good money. She even did a special song with him in Oh My God (Go go Govinda) and shares a great rapport with the choreographer-director. So is she confident of tasting success once again with the new project with Shahid Kapoor? Is that why she is giving most of her time to R…Rajkumar? Now that could be – but if her film Rowdy Rathore (which actually wasn’t up to the mark) went on to enter the Rs 100 crore club and managed to pull in crowds, then Sonakshi shouldn’t worry about Bullett Raja at all.
We get the feeling that Saif also believes the film won’t rake in that much moolah, but he is sticking by his work and his promises to promote the movie. That, Sonakshi should learn, hai na? Coz going the Sallu and Akshay way makes sense only when you’re a superstar, which we all know theDabangg babe isn’t. Also Sona, don’t forget you’re not a hero; in B-town, leading ladies can’t afford to have too many nakhras!
