Milan Luthria ditched his plans to make a film on the shocking murder of Aarushi Talwar immediately after court gave its verdict on this case and declared Rajesh and Nupur Talwar guilty of the crime. The director felt that it was insensitive, however Manish Gupta is ready with his film on this episode
Tisca Chopra starrer Rahasya is based on the real life Aarushi murder case. The makers of the film made no attempt to hide this fact, in fact the film’s protagonist Tisca in a recent interview said, “If somebody’s gone and killed their child, somebody’s going to make a story about it. It can’t be kept under wraps. If you’re taking your dog for a walk, nobody will make a story about it. The scope of human behaviour when it gets extreme is what films are made on. That’s our area of interest. They’re saying don’t make it, tell me, why not?”
Nupur and Rajesh Talwar’s lawyers Manoj Sisodia has now issued a statement on behalf of the
convicted couple, “We have got to know through media reports that some international and national film directors and writers are interested in making film and writing a book on the Aarushi- Hemraj murder case. Rajesh and Nupur are very upset that people want to make money by producing film and writing book on the murder of their daughter whom they loved so much.” So what then happens to Manish’s film? Will it release or will it not?
It’s not just Indian filmmakers, Hollywood director Clip F Runyard wanted to meet the Talwars to seek their permission to make a film and write a book on Aarushi. Buzz is also that the filmmaker even offered Rs 5 crore royalty to the Talwars, however he wasn’t granted permissions to meet the couple by the jail authorities.
