Born on September 11, 1981, in the Dehradun region of Uttarakhand, Shriya Saran was a trained Kathak and Rajasthani folk dancer as a child. She completed her Bachelor of Arts degree in literature from Lady Shri Ram College in Delhi. While in her sophomore year at the LSR College in Delhi, Shriya got her first opportunity to appear in front of the camera for a video shoot. Following her dance teacher’s recommendation, she was invited to appear in the music video of Renoo Nathan’sThirakti Kyun Hawa. Shot in Banaras, the video was seen by Ramoji Films who offered her the lead role of Neha in their film Ishtam. This had set the ball rolling for the Shriya Saran‘s illustrious career which has not only sustained but flourished for nearly 13 years now.
