Yeh Hai Mohabbatein's sweethearts, Raman (Karan Patel) and Ishita (Divyanka Tripathi), are finally in love with each other and have even realised it themselves, but just when they are about to reveal it to each other, Raman's past with Shagun (Anita Hassanandani) is coming back to haunt their lives. Raman, who was blindly in love with Shagun, was cheated upon breaking his heart and trust into so many pieces that even now, when he has found love, his past is making him doubt Ishita. Ishita is currently trying to solve a problem that might affect Raman and she is seeking her best friend Mani's help with it. What Raman notices is that Ishtia is hiding something from him and is lying to him and Mani is the cause of it. Why is Ishita hiding stuff from me? Why is she speaking to Mani in secret? What is she doing with Mani that she has to hide from me? Questions such as these have started haunting him making him ruthlessly rude and hurtful towards Ishita. Raman's past, when Shagun did these things to him - fooling him and eventually leaving him for another man, still continues to have power over Raman's mind.
