Jayantabhai Ki Luv Story Movie Review – 2/5
Jayantabhai Ki Luv Story Movie Review- In Short:
Although the movie has sure funny moments, the movie is not an impressive fare overall. A gangster falls in love with a well-educated and qualified young woman, leading to complications..
Jayantabhai Ki Luv Story Movie Review – Story Plot:
Vivek Oberoi as Jayantabhai is a small-time thug working for Altaf bhai (Zakir Hussain), a gangster, who has promised him a beer bar for going to prison for him in the past. Neha Sharma as Simran is a young and well-qualified woman, who is forced to take up accommodation in a lower-middle class locality after she loses her job and the company flat.
Initially, Simran is quite apprehensive about her neighbor Jayanta, but over time, they become friends when the latter assists Simran during her time of need. However, life is not as simple and things get complicated when Simran’s father wants her to get married. On the other hand, an ex-cop Alex Pandian (Nassar) is making life difficult for Altaf and his gang of goons.
How Jayanta and Simran manage to overcome all odds to come together makes the rest of the story.
Jayantabhai Ki Luv Story Movie Review – Performances: Vivek Oberoi, whose role appears alike to that of Aamir Khan in Rangeela, does make you laugh loudly at times with his ‘tapori’ lingo, but the act lacks the magic of Khan’s ‘Munna’ role. Neha Sharma acts the typical pretty face miss in distress. Zakir and Nassar as the bad guys are good enough.

Jayantabhai Ki Luv Story Movie Review – Direction:
Though the idea of a street goon falling in love with a regular girl next door has been explored in Rangeela, the film Jayantabhai Ki Luv Story did have potential to be an entertainer. Had the director spent less time digging into the gang politics and focused more on the interaction or chemistry between the lead characters, who are as different as chalk and cheese, maybe the movie could have been more entertaining.
Jayantabhai Ki Luv Story Movie Review – Final Word:
While the movie has its share of funny moments, the overall product is not so impressive…
