Ranbir Kapoor, Deepika Padukone survived on egg noodles in a freezing location



Ayan Mukherji's Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani featuring Ranbir Kapoor, Deepika Padukone, Aditya Roy Kapur and Kalki Koechlin. Assuming trailers, it looks like the entire unit of Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani had loads of fun. But the experience of shooting in Shimla was something of an adventure, says director Ayan Mukherji.

Parts of Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone-starrer was shot in Himachal Pradesh and Kashmir, and the weather conditions at the time of filming in January was not great. But the cast and crew had to deal with the situation, sources said.

There was particular food effortlessly.

"It was a big hassle to take food to the height, so everyone had to survive on eggs and instant noodles for a few days," the source said.

Also in Himachal Pradesh, the weather conditions were a major problem for the entire cast.

"It was very cold. And the hotel where Ranbir and Deepika stayed, had blackouts for several hours a day. There were no heaters either" the source added.

But, said Ayan Mukerji adventure was totally worth it.

"Our first schedule was in Manali. We envision a trek in the film, so we deliberately chose locations that were crooked and in the middle of nowhere. Jalori Pass, was especially a crazy place. It was a steep, uphill climb to reach location, a real trek kind.

"But our shoot ended up being even more fun because of all this. Maybe it was the best schedule for the film," he added.

The film, which also has Aditya Roy Kapur and Kalki Koechlin, is slated to release on 31 May
