Riya Vij bagged Karan Johar 'Gippi "fortunately

The 14-year-old plays the title role of Gippi aka Gurpreet Kaur, who is learning something new while growing and adapting to change.

But a friend of Riya really wanted to do the film.

"Actually, it was my friend who wanted to do the role badly. I stuck" Riya said in a statement.

He said his friend went through a rough time after his friend lost the role, but "eventually be worked out."
