The singer and judge on "The Voice" is asking a judge in New York to launch a $ 250 million lawsuit filed by his ex, Antonio de la Rua.
De la Rua is the son of former Argentine president Fernando de la Rua. Shakira came out with more than a decade before breaking up in 2011.
De la Rua has been saying that he shaped the "mark of Shakira".
The Daily News reports that Shakira said in court documents that owes its success to the Rua. She says it was
only one of their numerous advisors.
