Bollywood actress Madhuri Dixit Nene interrupted the filming of Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 6 to rescue seven pups who were fighting for their lives. The actress, 46 years old, was in Filmistan Studio on Sunday with her husband Shriram Nene for the shooting of his program when saw seven puppies last night wet from rain.
Madhuri stopped filming, and she along with her husband and director of the work Saahil Chhabria immediately contacted members of "People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals" (PETA) for help and stayed with the pups until help arrived, according to a statement.
" It's been raining and many puppies and kittens are in need of a good home . The good deed of Madhuri Dixit, Dr. Nene and Saahil Chhabria inspire many to help endangered animals, "said a member of PETA India, Sachin Bangera.
The puppies are up for adoption.
