The results of the survey, conducted among more than 11,000 women in India, by a matrimonial site, were announced the day before Father's Day on Sunday.
Shah Rukh received 34.83 percent of votes , while Amitabh was chosen by 31.58 percent of the women surveyed. Cricket player Sachin Tendulkar took third place with 18.61 percent.
"The survey shows some of the most successful Indian men whose love and dedication parents also makes them popular. This suggests that people look to celebrities as real people with real relationships, "said an official.
The survey also raises other questions to respondents.
The survey asks about the father-daughter country's most popular, Big B took first place with his daughter Shweta , who is married to businessman Nikhil Nanda.
Veteran actor Jeetendra and film producer Ekta Kapoor with her daughter got 35.06 percent of the vote, followed by the father-daughter duo Anil Kapoor and Sonam Kapoor (22.42 percent).
In addition, 44.85 percent of indigenous women voted for Shah Rukh and his son Aryan as the most popular duo of father and son in India.
