Chennai Express gets a Yo Yo Lungi song !

So the buzz about Honey Singh composing a special song for Chennai Express is true, after all

Shahrukh Khan gets a new voice – and it’s controversial singerYo Yo Honey Singh‘s.And even if Chennai Express music composers Vishal-Shekhar have been vehemently denying having Honey Singh on board, clearly the film’s makers are on a different page on this one. We quizzed Vishal Dadlani about it and he was mighty miffed, but managed to say just “Talk to Red Chillies guys” before hanging up! Looks like the fact that Honey Singh is being roped in is a really sore point for the composers.
But Mr Singh may just add that special something that is unfortunately lacking in the Chennai Express soundtrack. He has composed and sung a fun peppy Lungi song for the Shahrukh Khan-Deepika Padukone starrer that has that perfect blend of southern and Punjabi tadka.
While we love Honey Singh’s inimitable style of singing, it’s the animated South Indian accent that the Punjabi singer puts on that makes this song unique. And, of course, the madcap lyrics –‘Moocho ko thoda round ghumaake, anna ke jaise chashma lagaake, coconut me lassi milaake. All the Rajni fans, don’t miss the chance’ – that are perfectly in sync with Rohit Shetty’s totally lunatic film.
Now we like the way Honey Singh has roped Rajinikant in to his lyrics, too. And we’re sure that with Rajini on board and King Khan as the lead star and Deepika as his lovely feisty lady there will be greater mass appeal. As for the song, wethinks you’ll go crazy with this number, whether you are a Yo Yo Honey Singh, SRK or Rajini fan!
