ROMANCE BACK TO BOLLYWOOD?

Bollywood goes through several different time periods. Sometimes romance rules the box office and the public's heart, "sometimes action movies are the flavor of the season, sometimes novels, while other times the drama or comedy. In recent years it has been the masala action genre that has ruled over all the box office. However, more recently, the winds of change have blown and it seems that the era of romance has finally returned to BollywoodRomantic movies have been doing a good business, earning critical acclaim, winning awards and winning hearts of the audience. Even action movies like Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai Dobara are an important element of romance in them. Some action heroes have also noticed this change and are thinking of resorting to romance. Below is a look at the romantic movies that have done so since the beginning of 2012 and the upcoming 2013 romantic movies.

This romantic comedy starring Kareena Kapoor and Imran Khan, won the hearts and did above average business. Both Kareena Kapoor and Imran Khan received some critical acclaim for his performances.
Ishaqzaade (May 2012)
This romantic saga starring Arjun Kapoor and Parineeti Chopra. It received mixed response from the critics, but became a worldwide hit and the two actors received much critical praise for his performances.
Cocktail (July 2012)
This love triangle starring Saif Ali Khan, Deepika Padukone and Diana Penty. It received mixed critical response, but won over audiences and became a major commercial success.
Barfi! (September 2012)
This sweet love triangle starring Ranbir Kapoor, Priyanka Chopra and Ileana D'Cruz. It won the hearts of the audience, critical acclaim, commercial success, and awards.
Jab Tak Hai Jaan (November 2012)
This love triangle marked the return of the late Yash Chopra as a director for the last time and the stars the King of Romance Shah Rukh Khan, Katrina Kaif and Anushka Sharma. Although the plot of the film received many reviews, Shah Rukh Khan and Anushka Sharma were praised for their performances and the film went on to become a huge commercial success.
Aashiqui 2 (April 2013)
This romantic musical is starring Shraddha Kapoor and Aditya Roy Kapoor and is the sequel to the 1990 blockbuster musical Aashiqui. Positively received mixed critical reception, but became a commercial success
Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani (May 2013)
This romantic comedy starring Ranbir Kapoor, Deepika Padukone, Aditya Roy Kapoor and Kalki Koechlin. Positively received mixed reviews and became the biggest box office of 2013 to date.
Raanjhanaa (June 2013)
This romantic drama starring Dhanush, Sonam Kapoor and Abhay Deol in lead roles. He received positive critical reception, won the public, and became a commercial success.
Lootera (July 2013)
Lootera is a period romance starring Ranveer Singh and Sonakshi Sinha.Will be released on July 5, 2013, but have already received their promotions positive response and those who have seen the film in selected projections before release praised the film, direction, and major performances.
Ramaiya Vastavaiya (July 2013)
This romantic film stars the son of producer Kumar Taurani, Kumar Girish and Shruti Haasan. It is set to hit theaters on July 19, 2013.
Chennai Express (August 2013)
This romantic action comedy is set for a big release on Eid 2013. It stars the King of Romance Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone. It also marks the entrance of action director Rohit Shetty in the romance genre.Promotions and music of the film has been released to positive response and the chemistry of the lead pair has received many accolades. This is the journey of a man from Mumbai to Rameshwaram on board of a train and the way he meets the love of his life during this trip. The slogan of the film is inspired by the epic DDLJ and reads: "Come fall in love, Rohit Shetty ishtyle".
Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai Dobara (August 2013)
A sequel to Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai, this film is a romantic crime film stars Akshay Kumar, Sonakshi Sinha, Imran Khan and Sonali Bendre. It is ready to launch the Independence Day of India, 2013.
