Sangram Singh play a biopic Dara Singh

The wrestling world champion is all set to step into the ‘big’ shoes of the late legendary wrestler-turned-actor

Bollywood does not venture too far into the territory of biopics, but the success of movies like The Dirty Picture and Paan Singh Tomar and the positive buzz about the soon-to-release Bhaag Milkha Bhaag has inspired filmmakers to bring interesting real life-storiesto the big screen. The same is going to happen with the late Dara Singh, whose life will soon be turned into a biopic, we are told.
Dara Singh started his career as a wrestler, but soon found his true calling as an actor. The large-hearted he-man who metamorphosed into Lord Hanuman’s character in the popular TV series Ramayan was an icon for all Indian free-style wrestlers. Now we hear that World Wrestling champion Sangram Singh – better known now as reality starlet Payal Rohatgi’s beau – is all set to relive Dara Singh’s machoism and charm on the 70mm in a biopic made on the late legendary actor. The film will initially be made in Punjabi, followed by a Bollywood version.
According to the birdie who told us, the makers of this biopic believe that only a real-life wrestler would be able to do justice to the legendary fighting man’s role. Do you agree, Bollywoodlifers?
