Renowned Bollywood actor Om Puri has been charged with domestic violence by the Mumbai police. The actor’s wife Nandita Puri filed a complaint with the Versova police station, say reports.
Om and Nandita had been having problems in their relationship ever since Om’s tell-all book came out. But the warring couple had recently gone on a holiday together with their son Ishaan, so one thought that all was well.
NDTV senior journalist Barkha Dutt tweeted about the case, saying, “So Om Puri, who once bizarrely made up a husband for me who runs a japanese cafe in Canada ( dont ask) charged with domestic violence”.
Ironically, Om had just yesterday commented on the recent gang-rape case in Mumbai, saying, “Stringent punishment should be there so that people are afraid of the law. Nobody is afraid of the law because it is not effective, it takes so much of time.”
