Priyanka Chopra is generally on her best behaviour in front of the media and remains calm, cordial and cool during her interactions with the press. However, that didn’t happen at a recent media interaction to promote Apoorva Lakhia’s Zanjeer 2.0.
PeeCee was in a jolly mood answering a few nonsensical queries, retorting with witty one-liners…. till she finally lost her cool. A highly discussed item number from Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s new costume drama Ram Leela starring Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone has been in the news recently, and we heard that the filmmaker had two options in mind to do an item number – his favourite Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Priyanka. A confirmed report suggested that the Guzaarish director had already finalised the Desi girl for the special song. And after Babli (Shootout at Wadala) and Pinky (Zanjeer 2.0), we wondered what Piggy Chops next name would be!
So we decided to find out. But on being asked whether she will do the item number in SLB’s next, the angry actor said, “This is very upsetting. Media reports always keep saying things that an actor is doing this film or that film even without confirming the facts with the actor or his PR. It has happened with me most of the time, when people write things about me, saying that I’ve replaced some actor or some actor has replaced me, especially when the truth is that some films weren’t really offered to me!”
And it did not stop there. The disturbed star proceeded to give a long lecture on what the media should do: “You all decide whether I’m doing a particular film or not and write whatever comes to your mind. That’s not right. Unless you have the facts right, you cannot publish anything related to an actor or a filmmaker. You need to verify whether the actor was actually approached for that particular film or not. According to the media, I’m doing each and every film. It’s amusing to read newspapers these days with headlines like ‘Priyanka’s loss is someone else’s gain’ and stuff like that. I think its irresponsible journalism. Let the production house make an announcement…. unless you have facts right. Kitne time tak ‘source’-based stories karoge?”
Considering the report that Bhansali had already finalised PeeCee to do the item number in RL, we wonder why the Exotic lady had to lose her cool about it. She could just have said yes, no, or wait for an announcement, no? Now we are really starting to wonder what the story is…
