It’s barely been two weeks since comedian Sunil Grover walked out of Comedy Nights With Kapil — the show on which he played the role of the popular character, Gutthi. And already, rumours about the makers wanting to bring the character back have started doing the rounds.
Reports even claimed that comedian Raju Srivastav was approached to reprise the role. But a source close to Srivastav explains why that isn’t the case, saying, “It’s an unlikely possibility because Raju supported Sunil when the channel barred him from using Gutthi’s mannerisms in any other show.”

In a new addition to the tale, comedian Gaurav Gera has also been roped in to play the role of another character who shares striking resemblance with Gutthi. However, Gaurav says he has only “done Dulaari (the character) for a one-off episode”.
On December 1, this new character will be seen in a special episode featuring Saif Ali Khan.
