The Saawariya actor has come a long way from just making glamourous statements on the red carpet
Sonam Kapoor completes six years in Bollywood tomorrow and we must say the actor did it in style! Sonam’s career did not exactly start with a bang, though she featured in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Saawariya alongside a newcomer Ranbir Kapoor. The film fizzled at the box-office. Sonam’s competition at the box-office was Shahrukh Khan who had also launched a newcomer Deepika Padukone with Om Shanti Om. WhileSaawariya failed to announce Anil Kapoor’s daughter’s arrival in Bollywood she managed to stand tall despite back-to-back flops with films like Delhi 6, I Hate Luv stories, Aisha, Mausam and Players in her kitty. However if she failed miserably in films, she managed to become the fashion bible, with her exotic and unconventional style sense.
This year however is special for the Aisha babe with two consecutive hits – Raanjhanaaand Bhaag Milkha Bhaag. Six years back on Nov 9, 2007 Sonam started her journey and the actor took to Twitter to express her gratitude, “Tomorrow (Saturday) will be six years in the movie industry! Thanks to all of you I’m still around. Lots of love guys.”
The actor is currently busy shooting for 1980′s film Khubsoorat remake where Ms Kapoor will step into Rekha‘s shoes and we hope that her next release also becomes a hit, so that Sonam can celebrate her hat-trick! BollywoodLifers, tell us which is your favourite Sonam Kapoor film?
