King Khan may be banned from Wankhede stadium in Mumbai, but SRK will be at Eden Garden in Kolkata on November 10 to wish the Master Blaster well….
Shahrukh Khan’s scrap with security staff at the Wankhede stadium in 2012 had him banned from the venue, making it impossible for him to watch Sachin Tendulkar’s last match – on November 14 – before the Master Blaster’s retirement. And thanks to his scuffle with the ground staff during the IPL, the actor will not be present as the cricketer says his farewell to active playing. But there is no way that the Chennai Express star, a huge fan of Sachin, will not be part of that final bow – SRK will watch Sachin live At Eden Garden in Kolkata. As he said, “There are some places (Wankhede Stadium) where they don’t allow even Shahrukh Khan to go. You wait three hours for me out of love; there are people who don’t want me. I will go on November 10. I am going to Kolkata for a film festival and I will try and attend the test match there. I will see if I can reach, land up there and wish him.” As brand ambassador of the state of West Bengal, we know that the King Khan will get a rousing welcome not only in the city, but also at the cricket ground.
A die-hard fan of the game, the Chennai Express star expressed his disappointment when Sachin announced his retirement. “O no! Suddenly realised the meaning of addiction. Mine was the Master. I am going thru cold turkey. To see cricket without Sachin? Unbearable.” We’re sure that Kolkata will have a double blast with the Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar in action and Shahrukh cheering him on. And, of course, you never know – the ban on SRK at Wankhede could be lifted just in time for that last hurrah…
