Rani Mukerji’s Mardaani trailer bowled us completely. Not only were we overjoyed to see the Chopra bahu in a new avatar, but she packed punches not just in her dialogues. And guess what, joining Rani in the action race are Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Anushka Sharma and Sonakshi Sinha. These hotties are ready to kick some butt literally. Here’s a dekho at Bollywood’s new action queens…Rani Mukerji: The last time Pradeep Sarkar and Rani collaborated was for Yash Raj Films’ Laaga Chunari Mein Daag and if you thought that film was different, then you will be delighted to catch the petite beauty in a de-glam cop avatar in their soon to release movie. Some real action and Rani in a non-dramatic Dabangg avatar is what makes this project special. Mardaani is definitely a film to watch out for, not just for Rani’s acting prowess, but this heroine’s realistic stunts.
Aishwarya Rai Bachchan: Everybody was eagerly awaiting this light-eyed beauty’s return on 70mm. And Ash did spring a surprise when she chose and out-and-out action film with filmmaker Sanjay Gupta title Jazbaa as her comeback project. The Dhoom 2 actor has already started training for this film and if she managed to get a thumbs up with her Cannes appearance this year, we’re certain that Abhishek Bachchan’s wifey will pump in much more to get kudos for her act in silver screen. The makers too are making the most of the former Miss World’s presence in their film and have roped in Hollywood action director Spiro Razatos, who is best known for his work in Fast and Furious and has worked with Gupta on Kaante in the past. We just cannot wait to see Aishwarya back on the big screen, and will some high voltage action by this beauty on celluloid this wait is very much worth it, right BollywoodLifers?
Anushka Sharma: She has played the girl-next-door, the hottie and a perfect Bollywood heroine on screen. And now she’s ready to experiment with her debut production venture NH 10. If buzz is to be believed the Anushka will be seen kicking some butt in her next film that also features Neil Boopalam. Like Ash, even Anushka’s film will have a Hollywood action director on board.
Sonakshi Sinha: The Dabangg babe managed to make an impact in her debut with the WantedKhan and this despite it being a Salman Khan film. While she has played the demure damsel in distress most times, she is ready to move from her shy lady image. She handled the angry Shahid Kapoor in R…Rajkumar. His patent dialogue ‘Silent hoja warna main violent ho jaunga‘, didn’t work on Shotgun Jr. She went on to play a boxer in her last release Holiday and is ready to turn akhiladi like her co-star Akshay Kumar in AR Murugadoss’ next. It seems unlike the modern forms of fights Sona will be seen performing tradition martial arts form from Kerala in this film. We’re sure the new slim and fit Sonakshi will look sexy delivering some punches and not just dhamaakedaardialogues, right BollywoodLifers?
And it’s not just these heroines, Priyanka Chopra and the new reigning queen of B-town Deepika Padukone too have doled out some super kicks and punches on screen in films like Don andChandni Chowk To China. That’s not it, the Exotic babe will also be portraying Olympics bronze winner Mary Kom onscreen and has shot some action sequences for this movie.
With the new lot of Lara Crofts ready to do some stunts onscreen, we simply cannot wait to see which one of these Bollywood beauties will impress us in the coming days…
