Queen remake: Trisha, Nayantara, Samantha, Tamannaah or Shriya Saran

As filmmaker Thiagarajan has acquired the remake rights of Kangana Ranaut starrer Queen, Bollywood life brings you a list of South hottie’s who could step into Kangana’s shoes in the remake

Bollywood has been frequently found guilty of aping the South Indian films. But that trend seems to be changing as Bollywood hits seem to be influencing the filmmakers down south. After Jab We Met and Kahaani being remade in Tamil, Queen is set to be remade in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malyalam.
The veteran actor-filmmaker Thiagarajan has reportedly brought the remake rights of Queen and is planning to remake the film in all four major South Indian languages. The filmmaker believes the story of Queen has a pan India appeal and would be received well by the audience down South.
With the leading lady of the film yet to be finalised, Bollywoodlife brings you the list of South hotties who could contend for the coveted crown of Queen.
One of the favourite choices for the leading role is Trisha Krishnan who has carved a niche for herself in  Kollywood and Tollywood industries. The diva known for her mesmerising smile and histrionics is one of the most experienced hottie in the cine world. Her portrayal of Jesse inVinnaithandi Vaaruvaya proved the star had the skills to play complex layered characters brilliantly. Though the Endrendrum Punnagai stunner has become choosy over films, Queen is one role which she wouldn’t want to miss.
There are very rare cases of stronger comebacks than one of sizzling hottie Nayantara. After her break up with Prabhu Dheva, the sexy siren returned to the glam world and has got a wonderful start to her  second innings in films. After giving back to back hits with Raja Rani and Arrambam, Nayantara is one of the strongest horses in the race for the role in Queen remake. The sexy diva has already reprised Vidya Balan’s role in Kahaani remake titled Nee Enge in Tamil and Anamikain Telugu.  Nayan, capable of giving nuanced performances would like to bag yet another woman centric role in her kitty.
The vivacious Samantha is quite a popular name. Having established herself in Tollywood, the bubbly babe is making some serious in roads in Tamil cinema with three big back to back releases lined up this year. Her innocent look matches with that of Kangana in Queen. Having played a difficult role in Gautham Menon’s Ye Maaya Chesave and Neethane En Ponvasantham, Samantha has impressed everyone with her acting talent. Since the lass is currently trending down south, the punters are giving the edge to sweet looking Sam to be the filmmaker’s first choice.
After enjoying tremendous success in Telugu and Tamil cinema, Tamannaah is the next contender in our list to replace Kangana Ranaut in the remake. The milky white stunner had earlier reprised  the role of Kareena Kapoor in the Tamil remake of Jab We Met titled Kanden Kadhalai. And Oh yes! She pulled off the role well. While svelte beauty is concentrating on her Bollywood career, we are sure Tamannaah is no fool to let go a meaty role as this to go away from her.
Having successfully survived in the cine field for nearly 10 years, Shriya Saran has created a name for her in the industry. After doing glamorous roles in the initial years of her career, Shriya seems to have matured as an actor and is no more just a pretty face. Having given a riveting performance in recently released Manam, the stylish diva has caught the eye of filmmakers who are willing to offer her meaty roles. Shriya has stayed away from Kollywood for some time now and given her fan following in Andhra and Tamil Nadu, she is considered to be a dark horse who might snatch away the role from her contemporaries.
Interesting times lie ahead as the filmmakers would scratch their heads to choose the right heroine for filling in Kangana’s shoes. So who do you think should be the Queen of South? Vote!
