I am going to my hometown near Chandigarh to celebrate Eid. The celebrations at home are like Eidi from my mother. They’ve organised a big function back home. I would be gifting whatever my family members and cousins want as Eidi, haven’t thought of it exactly. It is only once a year kinda thing; so I like give with all my heart.

I have just got up from typhoid. Eid celebration is a big affair for my nephew and nieces, who for sure expect Eidi from me. I will mostly give them money and let them buy whatever they want as I don’t have the energy or time to go buy gifts this year.
This is my second Eid without my mother. It’s not the same anymore. But for the family, I would celebrate it. Young children and cousins surely look forward to the gifts of their choice as Eidi. My mother’s memories and blessings are my Eidi.
