Ever since the Karan Johar and Rohit Shetty announced they are remaking the classic Ram Lakhan there has been chatter in B-town on who will play the lead roles. Will it be Varun Dhawan and Sidharth Malhotra, or Arjun Kapoor and Ranveer Singh ? However, a source close to the production house tells us that its Ranbir Kapoor who is quietly inching towards nabbing that coveted role.
Our source says, “Karan is quite keen on signing Ranbir for the role of Lakhan. He suits the part perfectly and has all the mannerisms and requirements for that character. Also Ranbir is a huge Rohit Shetty fan and has admired his word right from the beginning, this would be a great opportunity for him to collaborate with his favorite director.”
However, RK hasn’t signed on the dotted line yet and there is talk that another Kapoor is also in the race and giving him a run for his money. Arjun Kapoor who is a die-hard Ram Lakhan fan has even confessed that multiple times on Koffee with Karan is ready to give his bulk dates to the project and make adjustments with other commitments if he gets the part. The source adds, “Arjun is desperate to get this film. However, a lot depends on who will play Ram, the elder brother. The actor has to be someone Arjun has some bonding or chemistry with, and from the younger lot its only Varun and Ranveer that he’s really fond of.”
However, Ranveer Singh is out of the picture because of his fall to with Karan where he chose to do Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Bajirao Mastani over Shuddhi. It is also learnt that RS has given bulk dates to Bhansali and there is no way he will be able to do Ram Lakhan. So will it be Ranbir or Arjun ?
