Shahid Kapoor's Haider and Bipasha Basu's Creature get U/A certificate

Vishal Bhardwaj's next release Haider, which is an adaptation of Shakespear's Hamlet featuring Shahid Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor has certainly perked the audiences' attention with its trailer that was released a while back. Now we hear that the film has been cleared by the Censor Board of Film Certification (CBFC) with a U/A certificate.

In fact seven cuts had been recommended when the film was submitted to the CBFC earlier, which included a scene of Shahid's character walking amongst dead bodies, visuals of security personnel inserting a wire into naked man and muting of the word "fu***d". However, but when resubmitted the film interestingly had 41 cuts in total.

Confirming the same, Vishal Bhardwaj commented that while the CFBC had asked for seven cuts, the rest of the 35 cuts were done to make the film more crisp. He further stated that the said extra cuts were not a byproduct of the CBFC's impositions.

On the other hand, Vikram Bhatt's next Creature 3D, featuring Bipasha Basu and Imran Abbas has been certified by the CBFC without any audio/video cuts with a U/A certificate. Commenting on the film director Vikram Bhatt says, "We have tried something very new and interesting and hope with the U/A certificate, maximum people can see it." Further producer Bhushan Kumar of T-Series adds, "Creature 3D is a complete different genre of cinema with VFX at par with Hollywood standards. The U/A certificate will help us to cater to larger audiences and show them India's first creature film."

While Haider, that is produced by Vishal Bhardwaj and Siddharth Roy Kapur also features Tabu and Kay Kay Menon apart from Shahid and Shraddha, and is slated for release on October 2, Creature 3Dthat is directed by Vikram Bhatt and produced by T-Series is slated for release on September 12.
