Guy Says His Family Is Pressurizing Him & His 32-YO Wife To Have Kids, Desis Shower Advice

In most desi households, a married couple is often pestered to have a child by the elders in the family, especially when they’re nearing or have hit 30. Things like a woman’s ‘biological clock’ are used to argue the case and after a while, it does get annoying for the couple in question.

Similarly, a Reddit user shared how his parents, in-laws, and many relatives are asking him (29) and his wife (31) to have kids. Since his wife is in her 30s, they are being told that if they delay the process, there might be a difficulty in the pregnancy.

“My parents, parents in law, many relatives, even landlord keeps on advising to have kids now. They say it is about time and any more delays can cause difficulties in conceiving babies later. I am 29 (almost turning 30), my wife is 31 (32 in 6 months). We both are working individuals. Should I be seriously considering it?”

Amongst the many people who showered the user with advice, the most common suggestion was to have a child when the couple is ready and not rush the decision just because of family pressure.

A couple of others suggested visiting a Gynecologist and getting a thorough check-up done. A medical insight would help the couple make a better decision.

Having a child is a massive decision and shouldn’t be made on a whim or when the family is pressurizing you to do so. In the past, there have been women who expressed regret about giving birth – some revealed that their partners weren’t supportive enough and a few others claimed that the entire experience was traumatic for them.
