Synopsis: Ram Parmar [Ayushmann Khurrana] rescues Mandar Lele [Kunaal Roy Kapur] from his suicide attempt and takes on the responsibility of rehabilitating him. Mandar has failed at every job and he has also lost the love of his life, Nandini [Pooja Salvi]. Ram decides to reunite Mandar with his sweetheart, but, in turn, falls in love with her.
The story is surely coming of age and no doubt there is freshness in it; but there are moments when you don’t really enjoy the drama.
While some of the comical portions in the film are very good, some appear silly and get boring too.
The adaptation from the French film APRES VOUS is well done and suitably adapted for Indian sensibilities
Music is not extraordinary but definitely tracks like Mera Mann, Dhak Dhak and Saddi Gali are melodious
Ayushmann Khurrana and Kunaal Roy Kapur deliver a great performance and their chemistry is noteworthy but the girls; Pooja Salvi and Evelyn Sharma could have done better. Yes, Gaelyn Mendonca is good.
Overall, Nautanki Saala! is a one-time entertainer and can be watched for its freshness.
