Rannvijay Singh film Mango: Shooting cancelled

Shooting of the film in Panaji stalled by the mayor after the film crew "illegally" stopped city dwellers into the location
Panaji City officials on Tuesday canceled the filming of the upcoming Bollywood film after Mango security personnel attached to the film unit manhandled a doctor known city in public. MTV veejay-turned-actor Rannvijay Singh, who is part of the film, was present at the scene when the incident occurred.

Surendra Furtado, Mayor of Panaji, told reporters that the Corporation of the City of Panaji (CCP) called the shooting canceled. "This can not be allowed to happen. A team can not assault DILNM respected city dwellers like this. The permission given (film crew) was only for a small area. Yet others have illegally blocked roads too, "said Furtado.

The incident occurred when Oscar Rebello, well-known physician, was crossing the road behind his clinic located near the city market, where 'gorillas' accompanying the film crew had cordoned off the road illegally, asked to be quiet. When Oscar was still and crossed the street, four guards started roughing and threatening. "I am filing a complaint with the Panaji police station. This attitude is unacceptable," said Rebello.

The producers of the film had been charged 30,000 rupees by the state government permits for a planned three-day session in Panaji. But now Furtado says that the city corporation would take a call on whether the film crew would be allowed to shoot in Panaji at all after the assault.
