Indian parents have weird ways of showing that they love their kids. For example, they never outright say I love you. Instead, they’ll ask you multiple times a day, kuch khana hai? They’ll never apologize straight if they’re wrong. Instead, the next day they’ll behave as if nothing was wrong!
Chandan Roy, who is the father of Sumit Roy, one of the writers for the film ‘Gehraiyaan’, recently showed such peak desi parent behavior. He took to Twitter to urge people to watch the film citing that his son was among the writers.
See the movie. My son Sumit is among the writers. pic.twitter.com/wNdK5kGoKm

Not just this, he also responded to hostile tweets with much dignity. For example, when one user claimed that he couldn’t watch beyond 15 minutes of the film, uncle Roy said that there’s always a next time.
Wish you good luck next time. Hope you would be able to watch his next movie.

Another user asked how much his son was paid for the project, uncle responded by saying that he never asks his son about his earnings.
. I never ask my son how much is his earning from each project. So I can't answer your question. Next time when I talk to him I will ask him.
But one thing I must say these days what I see around is young generation is freely using the four words. So people should not mind— roychandan (@cretiredroy) February 14, 2022
However, uncle Roy can be pretty blunt at times!
Looks like the story went above your head. You need to study more to understand this type of movie.

This just made us go awww.
Every father had the right to be proud of their child's achievements.

Other people online absolutely loved how supportive the man was of his son’s work. Here’s what some said:
